The Appellate Lawyers Association (“ALA”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. The ALA has created this privacy policy to explain its practices on the gathering and dissemination of information from this Website.

We may collect information that identifies you when you interact and provide such information on our Website, such as, but not limited to, when applying for membership or registering for an ALA event or program. Once collected, we may use your personally identifiable information in a variety of ways including, but not limited to providing service communications such as bill reminders, and notifications of ALA events or programs, and confirmation of program registrations. Your information may also be used by the ALA to send emails to its members for various purposes, including, but not limited to, CLE opportunities, member benefit information and more. Submitting certain member information is strictly voluntary. By doing so, the member is giving the ALA permission to use the information for the intended purpose.

2. Sharing Public User Information.

The ALA does not share public user information with entities that are not affiliated with the ALA. The ALA may, however, share with third-parties certain aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of users who clicked on a particular website, feature, or icon. The ALA does not sell or rent public user information to third-parties. Nothing herein prevents the ALA from responding to government or legal requests for information.

3. Links to Other Websites.

This Website sometimes provides links to other websites. The ALA has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of those websites.

4. Third-Party ALA Social Media Platforms.

The ALA has established platforms on third-party hosted social media sites such as Facebook. The ALA has established these platforms for the benefit of members. These platforms are covered by this Privacy Policy and the ALA’s Website Terms and Conditions.

5. Security.

The ALA takes reasonable security measures to protect against the loss or misuse of information under its control. The ALA does not guarantee that the safeguards will always work.

6. Privacy Policy Changes.

The ALA may occasionally change the Privacy Policy without notice to its members. The ALA urges its members to periodically review this Privacy Policy.
