The Appellate Lawyers Association (ALA) and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI) Cordially Invite You to Attend an Appellate Practice Seminar:

UNCERTAIN ISSUES AFTER
DOBBS

2022 VIRTUAL LUNCHTIME
APPELLATE SEMINAR

Please attend our appellate practice seminar on the legal landscape following the United States Supreme Court’s recent decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. These issues include whether other substantive due process rights are now also subject to reconsideration by the Court, whether emergency rooms are required to perform abortions when necessary to stabilize a patient experiencing a medical emergency, whether states with abortion bans can bar travel to states without them, whether states can ban abortion inducing drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and whether pharmacists may refuse to fill prescriptions for therapeutic drugs that can be used to induce abortions.

Our presenter, Ian Millhiser, has been writing and speaking about these topics. He is a Senior Correspondent on the Supreme Court for VOX, served as a Law Clerk to a Justice of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and has authored two books on the Supreme Court. The discussion will be moderated by ALA President Jonathan B. Amarilio.
